Instant connectivity and low latency will accelerate digital transformation opportunities
Brussels – Belgium, 18th May, 2021 – BICS, a leading international communications enabler, today announced its support for Google Cloud’s Partner Interconnect, a service from Google Cloud that allows customers to connect to Google Cloud’s platform globally. With Partner Interconnect, customers can now choose BICS to provide connectivity from their facility to the nearest Google edge point of presence. The cloudification of services provides end-to-end security, ultra-low latency, and real-time autonomy through BICS’ fully automated service portal.
The collaboration leverages BICS’ dedicated multi-cloud connectivity solution, Cloud Connect, along with Partner Interconnect, to provide reliable, scalable connectivity between enterprises’ on-premises infrastructure and Google Cloud locations in the US, EU and Asia Pacific. With more than 100 points-of-presence across the world, BICS’ multi-layer network offers a high-speed, robust connection to Google Cloud, at speeds from 50 Mbs to 10 Gbps. Users of the service benefit from BICS’ instantaneous Cloud Connectivity Portal, providing real-time provisioning, flexible billing and scalable models tailored to their individual needs.

The current momentum in cloud strategies, accelerated by the sudden demand for business continuity throughout the recent pandemic, is expected to continue post-Covid. Gartner predicts that worldwide end-user spending on public cloud services is set to grow to $304.9 billion in 2021, adding that almost 70% of organizations using cloud services today plan to increase their cloud spending. The market for Platform as a service (PaaS) is projected to grow from $43.8 billion in 2020, to $69 billion by 2022, with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) will also increase by a further 26%.
